Did you taste it after the D rest?

 I always taste the beer at the height of the d rest and see if I am satisfied with the flavor.  If I think that the yeast in suspension is masking the flavors too much( like in a light lager) I take a sample and crash it, then taste it.

I sent the white house an email a day or two after I read this story.  I asked if I could get the chef's contact to try and get the recipe, and maybe see if he would want to go on the BN or the AHA for a quick interview.  Maybe I'll hear back...ya never know!

I took that class a couple months ago, all in all, it was good.  I had a good time taking off work to drink tainted beer!

When I signed up I didn't realize it was enough for 6 people so my girlfriend got to do it with me.  I still got some of the off flavors left over...I'm going to use them in some more flavorful beers later on.

Do you have a local brewery?  Maybe you could talk to the owner and convince him/her to sign up some of their bartenders to take it with you.  When I took it there were some people who worked in breweries taking it.

I'm not sure if I have my hops in a big enough pot.  Could this by why my yield seems a little more than some?  Maybe it is running out of root room, and is concentrating on cone production?  Any thoughts?

I think you're exactly right.

You need to repot or plant this out during the winter when the plant is dormant. This sounds very much like what a plant does when it can't grow it's roots.  You could also prune the rhizome during the winter and start off a new plant.

That's what I figured.  I think I might go ahead and plant them in the ground in the winter, don't hop roots like to grow horizontally?  Or do I have that ass backwards...

I vaporize ground whole hops, and pump those aromatic vapors through a diffusion stone for a minute or two......just kidding, but I was thinking about that

Ive added oxygen in the keg through the side out with okay results  A wine degasser or paint mixer would work much better, although you could bubble 02 through the dip tube while using a degasser or mixer and greatly increase your amount of dissolved oxygen.

I would start investing in a kegging system.  Do it slowly and it wont be so hard on the wallet.

Get your C02 first, and try flushing your bottling bucket with c02 before you put your beer in it...it cant hurt!
