I hope so, that does make me feel better about it.  I do have a plan in place in case 3:15 rolls around and I haven't been able to register yet.  One of the other members of my club agreed to do it for me once he has finished registering.

Quincy, since you may be in a rush, they just made a change last night to the conference tickets and made the banquet an add on to each of the packages.  So the full package is $205 plus $50 for the banquet.  I'd hate to have you get a ticket and miss out on the banquet.

Thanks, I did see that last night.  I know the wife will be angry if I miss out on the Banquet tickets, she is looking forward to that part.  Well she is looking forward to all of it but she specifically said she wants to go to the banquet.

Got through quickly using the 877 number. The nice lady I spoke with said she'd had a lot of calls from us today.

I think this may have been answered already but it is refundable for those that are concerned. Card is just holding room for now.

Yes, the lady I spoke with said you have to cancel at least 3 days before the registration.  The card you gave is just to hold the room and when you check out of your room you can leave it on that card or use a different one.

I don't think so.  The conference is done by the AHA.  The rooms are done by the hotel and a housing bureau.  I think the AHA will have the link up and running at the right time, since they control the servers.

I think the link is out there, just no one updated the website (ahaconference.org) to reflect it.

So the link still isn't up, should we be anticipating the registration process to start late?  I might have to get someone else to register for me when they finish their own.  I'm worried that I might be cutting it close since I am only available until 3:30 today to try to register and the wife wont be home from work yet either to do it.

Call this number:  1-877-212-5752 and tell them you're with the conference.

I finally got thru to the hotel and they gave me this number.  Sounds like it's selling fast.

Thanks for this, it worked for me and I am telling the other members of my club who have been on hold.  There was no wait it went right to someone and I'm done.  Now I just hope registration opens on time because I will only have a half hour to get it done before a big meeting at work today.

So there is no special link posted, the phone line is busy, and the hotel website now allows you to book those days at the normal rate of $419 a night.  What's going on?

In case anyone didn't see it yet, they updated the page and the pricing is now up. $255 for the full conference and $195 for the social ticket.

I have shoved enough beer into a suitcase that it exceeded the checked bag weight limit. I ended up carrying (or rather my wife carried) a paper bag full of clothes onto the suitcase to get under the limit. I have no shame.

I have also done this.  The wife was not happy at all but it worked.  I was a little worried that we ended up taking a lot of the clothes and therefore padding out of the suitcase to get it under the weight limit but it worked and luckily nothing broke.  That's why I suggested weighing it before you get to the airport.  We had to carry on a paper bag full of clothes and hope for the best with the bottles.  Glad I'm not the only one who's done this though.

I have flown cross country a couple of times with more than my fair share of homebrew in my checked luggage.  I have also flown internationally with purchased brew in checked luggage with no problems.  Just make sure you pack it really well so none of the bottles break and make sure to weigh it before you leave for the airport.  If it's overweight they will charge you out the nose for the extra weight.  I've found that it's actually cheaper to pay for an extra checked bag than to pay for the overweight charge.

I plan on getting the same setup (Me: Full, Wife: Social) for this year.

This is what I was planning on doing too.  The wife doesn't plan on attending any of the seminars but is interested in going for the social stuff and tasting.

As a new AHA member who has never attended the conference I was curious how much the conference registration is?  Philly is only a few hours from me and I am thinking about going.
