Equipment and Software / Mash Paddle

I'm about to finish up with my mash paddle carved out of a 36" piece of maple.  I've seen that these are finished by applying a food-grade lemon-based oil but does it really need to be lemon-based or can I just use food-grade block oil?

Beer Travel / Heading to San Diego in March

My wife just gave me airline tickets to San Diego in March while I'm on spring break.  We are planning on hitting up Stone, Lost Abbey, Alesmith, Ballistic, Green Flash, and Alpine.  Is there anything that we may be missing on this trip?
