General Homebrew Discussion / New "owned" home; first batch a beer!

I recently brewed an IPA and kegged it. Ready to go in a couple of days. Finally after my two scrapped beers (don't ever use garden hose to fill your wort on brewing day people!) This batch tastes good (obviously flat still.) my kegerator is looking good.

I don't know what I am doing wrong. I clean and sanitize my equipment very well. The only thing I can say that my beer tastes like "band-aids" or old plastic. I do admit I use water out of the tap. I have not have had problems until recently. I use a 6 gal bucket for my primary and a glass carboy for secondary. I can provide all other equipment on request. I have another batch ready to go but I am worried about repeat issue. Please help.

Hello all. I recently acquired a commercial keg to use instead /or with a kettle. My question(s) is this:
1. How do you cut off the top of the keg? (what tools do I need?)
2. How can i convert it to a "lauter tun? (Pictures would be nice)

Hello all!
I have a question about beer contaimintation:
How can you tell visually when your beer is contaminated. I'd like to know from primary, secondary, bottles, and kegs. If anyone has pictures of this, that would be a GREAT visual! Thx!

All Grain Brewing / New to all-grain brewing
« on: November 05, 2009, 12:21:19 PM »I have almost ALL my equipment for my all grain (Going cheap, cause I'm poor). I need to know what works best with food grade buckets. Styrofoam, Blankets, or sleeping bags? I don't want it to be cumbersome though...any suggestions?
