I have a few Trinidad Scorpion Butch T plants that I started way too late in the season- mid June.  I'll be moving them inside to keep them alive and ready for next year's growing season, which starts about mid April here in southern Alabama. 
A chili pod eating competition among drunken friends will most likely take place next year if anybody's interested.

I think it's pretty funny when taken as it was intended- comedy.  A vast majority of the comments on youtube were from people who are either too easily offended, or just don't get the joke.  I am sure that we all know a fellow brewer that likes to experiment with various odd things to add to their brews, and it ends up like bratwurst ale.
It didn't specifically say anything bad about homebrewers, it was just a charicature of a wacky dude.

Who knows?  This just might pique the interest of some people enough to investigate and start brewing.

The Pub / Another Lost Buddy

Today, because of health issues over the last couple months, I had to take Soileau's Kei Gogi Wetzel to the vet for the last time.  She was with me for my first brew session in 1998, but unfortunately, she won't be with me for any more. 
She was the typical pit bull- strong, smart, loyal, friendly to people and dogs, and the best foot warmer in bed during the winter months.

Please raise a pint in her honor as I already have tonight.  Thanks.

It all went well I thought.  The reporter was a good guy, and was very into the whole process.  None of my beers were in bottles, so I gave him and the reporter a bottle each of my friend's kiwi wit that was handy, and both liked them.

I am going to have everything started and the boil going before they get here, and we discussed the time it takes.  It sounded like they will stay around for an hour or so, possibly until I get the wort into the fermenter.  The amount of time is one of the first things I told the reporter when I initially talked to him a few days ago.
One of my extract brewer friends will be here from the beginning to see the AG process.  He already spent some time talking to the reporter, so my info will be pretty specific to just AG.

I am going to be interviewed by a local reporter for an article about homebrewing.  I will be going through a FG brew session and give a quick overview of the process.  Also, for the photographer, I will set up a display of the ingredients and equipment used throughout the process.  The reporter is obviously going to ask lots of questions, but he told me to think of 5 or 6 things to tell him about such as when I started, why I started, etc. 
Is there anything else that I should do or prepare for before they show up?  The house will be cleaned and I won't fart when they are here.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Back on track- Those reenactments are pretty cool.  I went to one about 25 years ago while visiting family in the South, and was thoroughly impressed.  Growing up in Arizona didn't give much of an opportunity for me to see any more.
