If a beer I really want is only offered in a can, I'll drink it - after first pouring it into a glass. But I try to avoid cans only because of the BPA lining issue. (And I still have my beer can collection from the 1970s!) I know BPA-free beer cans will come sooner or later.

Resurrecting a really old thread here, but I'm wondering if anyone who said they were going to do a side by side test of one bottle conditioned and another force carbed beer actually did it. If so, what were your observations? I'm grappling with this myself right now.

Doing a Learn to Homebrew Day event at Summits Wayside Tavern in Woodstock, GA and will be brewing a Smoked Porter (the website states an ordinary bitter, but I changed my mind). I'll get started around noon.

Since moving to the Atlanta area one year ago, I've found 420 to be my go-to in most places that have nothing but "BMC, BMC lite... oh... and 420". Exodus is a great Porter and I look forward to Happy Ending Imp Stout in a few weeks. But I've always passed up the Motor Boat for some unknown reason. I'll not pass it up next time!
If you get a chance, try the newly released LowRYEder IPA. I picked up a sixer this weekend and loved it. 25% rye malt and Mt. Hood & Centennial hops. Lovely.

It won't fly. In the 1990s Lion Nathan brewery in Australia produced a Duff beer and Fox took them to court there. The product was ordered to be pulled from store shelves and destroyed. And Lion did not use the Simpsons Duff Beer logo. The cans became big collector's items. Same thing happened in New Zealand.

Being a commodity hop, I find that it varies widely from supplier to supplier. And Columbus is especially prone to powdery mildew. I have heard a couple of pro brewerers state that they believe (their words, not mine) that we may see CTZ go away in the next decade because of it's susceptibility.
