It's so tough to choose. They are both great, but in different ways.

On the other hand, Betty vs. Veronica?

I'm all for Betty.

How can a case of really good beer be anything but AWESOME?

I usually remember not to do it, but I was transferring the beer and it just looked so good! I couldn't resist.

The sample was yummy at least.

Do not take the lid off a bucket of beer that has been fermenting for a week, put your face about an inch away from the beer and deeply breath in the aroma.

Trust me on this one.
I think I hurt my nose and I got dizzy for a few seconds.

I love Martini's but after the first one I could care less how it's made...

The Pub / Re: favorite bourbons
« on: November 25, 2009, 08:27:55 am »
I just mentioned this in another thread, but cheap bourbon is frequently just as good or better than the expensive stuff. Here's a list of some.

Old Fitzgerald
Cabin Still
Rebel Yell
Ancient Age
Old Grandad
Old Crow
Old Forester
George Dickel 8

I use Heaven Hill as my standard house bourbon.

Slightly more expensive but still a great value (depends on the store)

 Fighting Cock
 George Dickel#12
 Knob Creek 9 year
 Elmer T. Lee
 Old Whiskey River
 Old Weller Old Antique
 Virginia Gentleman
 Buffalo Trace
 Eagle Rare 10 year old

The Pub / Re: Who is a famous person that you've had a beer with?

These are great stories. I don't think I've actually ever met anyone famous. Seen some celebs on the streets of NYC but that's about it.

The Pub / Re: Bourbon, Whiskey or Rye?

I usually prefer bottom shelf bourbon (it's actually as good or better than the fancy stuff). I used to drink a lot of single-malt scotch too, but the cost keeps going up, so now I rely on xmas and birthday presents for that. Laphroaig is my all-time favorite. Corn liquor is also a mighty tasty beverage, if you can find it.

Learning how to play the guitar, banjo, and now the accordion. Also painting and gardening along with roasting my own coffee and making my own olives and last winter started carving my own canoe paddles. It is so cool to start with a big, rough plank of wood and end up with a beautiful custom paddle.
