With less than a week to go, we're almost at the entry cap.

Enter ASAP.

Only one week to go to the entry deadline. The entry cap of 1000 is 3/4 full.

I forgot to mention that one of the gold medal beers, not necessarily the BOS beer, from this year's UMMO will be chosen by Kris England of Pour Decisions Brewing Company to be brewed professionally at Pour Decisions.

Homebrew Competitions / Upper Mississippi Mash-Out 2013 Registration Open
« on: December 18, 2012, 02:58:40 pm »
Registration is open and nearly 1/3 full for UMMO '13. (Entries are capped at 1000.)

It's the 12th year for one of the largest, most competitive homebrew comps in the nation. This year's theme is The Dirty Dozen. We'll have an array of 100% brett-fermented beers with a unique new brett strain isolated by Pour Decisions Brewing Company brewer Kris England.

This year's speakers are two titans of homebrewing: Joe Formanek and Steve Piatz.

See all the details here: http://www.mashout.org

Go straight to registration: http://www.mashout.org/reg/login.php

Hope to see you in the Twin Cities at the end of January.

DOH!  Steve, I dickchimped it!  I had the display in landscape so I couldn't see the results box.  It works fine and I'm an idiot!

Whew!  ;D

I threw caution to the wind and spent 99 cents on the app. Looks like it would be handy. I recommend correcting the typos that crop up throughout the app (such as "Volumue" ... "Refractomemter" ... "Original Gavity" ... "Fahrenhiet") -- it will improve the credibility of your product.

Typos have been noted and corrected. A new release is pending and in the review process, which takes about 2 weeks.

would you be interested in adding "conversion efficiency" (http://braukaiser.com/wiki/index.php?title=Understanding_Efficiency#Conversion_efficiency).

This is one of the calculations that I do most often when I brew since I'm interested in getting to 100%.

Kai

Thanks for the suggestion.

I'll add this to my to do list.

Best wishes to Ken.

Great guy, great mead maker, great teacher.

We learned a lot from him here in St. Paul, MN.

Denny-

I've tested it on my iPad, which is a 1st gen running iOS 5, and it works just fine.

Not sure what to say.

Denny-

It works on my iPhone.

I'll have to try it on my iPad later. I don't have it with me right now.

It won't spit out a number unless you have all the input fields (Grain Temp, Grain Weight, Water Ratio, and Target Temp) populated.

gmac-

As Denny mentions, it does run on the iPad as an iPhone app, but really was only designed for portrait mode, so won't behave all that well in landscape.

And yes, after swatting bug and cleaning up typos, the next step will be to make it a universal app to take full advantage of the iPad screen size and functionality.

redbeerman-

Yes, just a calculator and reference app.

The goal is to have the next major release (a few months out at least) do recipe formulation, but probably only on the iPad.
