Classifieds / Looking to buy Sabco system

Looking to buy a Sabco system or brutus system if anyone has built one and would like to let it go. My wife has recently let her guard down and is allowing me to make a big purchase so I'm trying to strike while the iron is hot. Any leads would also be appreciated. Thanks.

While updating my location I noticed all of the spaces for AIM, YIM, ICQ, etc. How about throwing in Twitter or FB handles/addresses?

I'd like to ask people to put their location into their profile.  It kinda makes things a bit more personalized, and helps brewers near each other to get together if the want to.  Kinda like the old Rennerian coordinates in HBD!

To do this, go into your profile and click on "Forum Profile Information".  Then you can add your location info to either your personal text or signature.  Don't use the "Location" box...for some unknown reason, your location won't show up if you do that.

Read a lot of the comments from the original article. Not knowing the law in Tennessee, I can only speculate that it isn't legal for AB to walk into a private business and remove/confiscate anything from that place without permission or court order. Their name stamped on the side does not automatically give them the right to take control of the keg or its contents. That said, the small brewer who bought those kegs from a secondary market does not have a legal claim to stolen property even if he believes he bought it 'fair and square'. The fact that legal authorities were not brought into this is troubling. If this small brewer can't afford to buy kegs maybe he should consider leasing them from someone who is LEGALLY providing them to him.

Hi Jill, I'd actually like to see some more articles on equipment both purchased and DIY. I'm sure you could devote entire issues to the topic. More realistically, I think it could be a regular feature with available commercial products highlighted and a DIY version to build yourself along with it.

Also, while not necessarily a magazine feature but rather one for the website: Any chance you guys could make more discounts available to members with say promotional codes, groupons or living social discounts for buying equipment or ingredients?

Thanks for the responses. For the record, I didn't plan to boil the juice, just pasteurize which does not require boiling.
Bonjour, I don't know why I didn't do this first but I just dropped an email to Shaun at 21st Amendment. Hoping to get some type of response after the weekend. I'll be sure to update here if anyone is interested.

Ingredients / Using Watermelon

I'm looking forward to making a watermelon wheat beer in the near future. Rather than putting chunks of watermelon into my carboy, I was interested in using just the juice. My plan is to essentially juice a couple watermelons and collect about 1-1.5 gallons of liquid, pasteurize the juice (not boil)  to A) reduce the likelyhood of any infections, B) increase the amount of flavor and sugar I get in to the beer, then use it to top off a partial boil batch to give me 5 gallons.

Any thoughts on this process? Anyone ever tried this? Is it a sound idea?
