Was last years posting of results held up by the ALES or was it another region?

I thought my BC was factory .039, but I've never measured it.  I'm thinking of moving it down to .035 and seeing what happens.  I played with the idea of running through twice but laziness took over and that idea went away.

Jake, this sounds really interesting.  I hope I don't offend anyone by saying that I hope this is a bit more controlled than a lot of BN programs.  A lot of those have a level of asshattery that I just don't enjoy.  I guess that puts me firmly in the "old curmudgeon" category.

I can respect that, but don't put us to sleep either.

I think we could all assume the midwest was going to fill up this year due to the conference being in their region.  I wouldn't be surprised if 50-60% of those are from Saint Paul's.  The NE filling up was a bit of a surprise I guess.

I'd much rather spend the hundreds of dollars on other things like food, clothes, better brewing equipment ( I think Gordon Strong said once he spend the equivalent of a one weeks paycheck one year ).

Caps on number of entries may be in the future, but I thought you couldn't enter more than 1 in a category already ( but I may be thinking about a different comp ).

All Things Food / Re: Bradley Smoker????

I have heard good things about the GOSM propane smoker ( ready to take my beating from the "propane sucks for grilling/smoking" crowd ) and will probably go this route.

I'm going to have so many propane tanks hanging around...1 for the grill, 1 for the smoker, 2 for homebrewing.  Makybe I should see about hooking into my 500 gallon propane tank that I use to heat my house.

Jake,

Are the GC tickets super special VIP tickets that let us skip to the front of the line? :)

Another politician looking for his entitlement.. :)

I thought the GC would be doing all the pouring for the event to show their committment to homebrewing.

What about Ellie May and granny? Now there is a tough choice.

When I was a kid the hormones were going wild. I wanted to make a Capazzoli sandwich with Ellie May and Granny as the bread. MMMM!

Oh God...please stop before someone puts up a poll on which Golden Girl you'd prefer  :o

I have used Promash for 7-8 years now. No reason to switch. I don't need updates. I put my own styles in as well as hops, yeast, grains etc. I brew the same beer now as I have done the last 10 years. Why switch? I don't understand the negative reviews Promash gets. It must be " NEW " brewers. I am an old guy...

Swampale

I have nothing negative to say about Promash, but I prefer Beersmith better.  What I haven't done is enter the same recipe into each and see how they compare ( IBU Calc, gravity, etc. ).
