I felt that needed to be added, because The Head and the Heart is that awesome, and not enough people have heard them.

And back to the regularly scheduled thread...

And time. Sometimes it just takes time.

+1

When bottling, I usually just leave the bottles a couple more weeks in the fridge after they're done. And when kegging, I leave the fermenter in the fridge for a week or so before siphoning to the keg. I always use irish moss in the boil, and when kegging, sometimes I use gelatin when cold crashing the fermenter too.

Not sure if APA or Brown Ale, but I already made the starter so brewing for sure.

Calories in calories out works great for me. I also do resistance training to stay in shape.

Yeah thats what I was gonna say, its probably not the BEST way to exercise out there, but its better than nothing. If you accepted the 5k challenge go for it, never go looking for excuses not to. However, if you want to lose weight, the most important thing its your diet.

Good luck!

Yeast and Fermentation / Starter
« on: March 28, 2012, 11:45:36 AM »
I'm making a Hefeweizen this saturday, aiming for somewhere around 1.050. I have WLP300, should I make a starter? I've never made one before, I've always used dry yeast, but I guess there's a first time for everything. What should be the volume and gravity of the starter?

If you want "just enough bitterness to be called an American Pale Ale" I'd go for less IBU's.
