Yeast and Fermentation / Sour Beers
« on: December 12, 2011, 11:13:41 PM »
My first foray in sour beers involved just dumping dregs in a beer that I wanted to sour.

I know that there many ways to get a sour beer.

We are just asking for hints and tips.

I want to add something special to the sour.

Share your sour tips? maybe!

Thank you Sour Masters!

General Homebrew Discussion / Wisconsin Bill 290
« on: October 20, 2011, 08:08:01 PM »
The long story short Northern Brewer has pursued their agenda to serve beer at their store in Milwaukee. Great! but this bill will torpedo home brewers. The Wisconsin Home brewers who have been working for more than 7 months crafting legislation that would allow us to serve at beer fests and outside our home. Enter Mr. Jake K a member of the AHA governing committee promoting bill 290, this helps Northern Brewer his employer but sticks a big road block to home brewers serving at beer fests. I wonder if he really cares about homebrewers other than their money that they spend at Northern Brewer.

I'm greatly disappointed in Mr. Keeler's actions, He is a member of the Wisconsin Hombrewers Assocation web group and we were never notified of their pending legislation.

I wonder where Mr. Keeler's allgiences lies.

Going Pro / Thinking of your recipe, buying hops.
« on: August 23, 2011, 07:56:29 PM »
Well being a newbie I got to thinking about hops and recipes. Big oops on my part I need 600#  for a modest IPA. The thing is I need them this year and now. My recipe calls for the hardest to get hops, and they are all spoken for now what? I hope to get them by hook or crook but you got to think about the availability of your raw materials.

Just another thing to think about.

The Pub / Bucket List
« on: May 26, 2011, 10:36:29 PM »
So I was talking to one of my first girlfriends from the prehistoric ages, after the fact I have started to wonder what is on my bucket list? What are your greatest joys? What will you never forget?

I'll start, (duh!) I want to walk in the rain with my wife enjoying life and the moment.

Second is walking with my wife (the love of my life) and my children in the rain and living in the moment and talking about the future. Wishing that both boys will be there.

I got a thing about walking and talking in the rain, goes back way before High school.

Proceed.

I got lots more!

Lets hear it!

It was not a greasy as it looked. Quail pan fried in butter with sage and thyme and merlot. Fries recipe was Cooks illustrated. Only thing not from the farm was the p-nut oil for the fries.

All Grain Brewing / So your Barley Crusher won't Crush?
« on: April 01, 2011, 09:15:12 PM »
I have a Barley Crusher that is 4 years old, I have oiled her and taken great care of her but now she won't crush. The free wheel won't spin to get the crush started. I help the dead wheel and then she works for awhile, but It is a bit to ask to keep the dead wheel running with your hand. I'm sure a few of you have had this problem what have you done to eliminate it. I love my Barley Crusher but not now.

The Pub / Don't post while drunk, Just a warning
« on: March 30, 2011, 09:03:36 PM »
I posted some derogatory comments about a friend, that I have known for over 5 years. It reflected badly on myself and the AHA. When you are drunk posting is not great idea. Please think before you hit the return button. Nothing good will happen from this, trust me.

You will be judged by what you have posted.

I know I will be judged, but don't let yourself be judged.

Drunk posting is a bad thing to do. Trust me.

Euge, thank you!

Signed the biggest ass on the planet.
