Commercial Beer Reviews / green beer one can live with
« on: September 20, 2012, 07:37:36 AM »
As we all know,  "Green beer" can describe beer that's been dyed for St. Pat's day (tacky)  or beer that's indequately aged (not ready for prime time).
But check this out!  Here's 'green beer'  that is neither:

Beer Travel / thirsty in San Diego
« on: July 13, 2012, 09:01:13 AM »
Hi all...
I'm booked for appearances at Comic-Con 2012 in San Diego this weekend.
I don't have a car while I'm here, but am wondering if anyone can point me to a good beer destination or two near my hotel (the Hilton Bayfront) that I can hit after my work days are done.

P.S.  Comic-Con sure is a crazy place!!

Any Laurel & Hardy fans out there?
The Jennings brewery in Cumbria (in England's Lake District) has brewed up a seasonal beer in honor of its famous hometown boy, Stan Laurel.

Commercial Beer Reviews / Dick Yuengling on the radio (NPR)
« on: June 27, 2011, 12:28:37 PM »
I'm listening to NPR as I write this, a feature called FREAKONOMICS talking about family successions in business.  Nice interview with Dick Yuengling & daughter Wendy.  Also talk about the Busch family leaving the beer biz, and what went wrong.

The show is available for streaming and download here:
