I like my AirGas place. What I like best is they don't fill the tank, they trade it out for a full one. This insures that the tank is within DOT testing and no waiting. I think I paid $13-$14 for my last fill/tank.

I'd go with the 1 time used bourbon barrel.

The SBL has used an apple brandy barrel for a Belgian Triple.  That was a 2-3 time use before we got it.

why would you want to cellar a fresh hopped IPA? that makes no sense to me. Celebration is one of my favorite beers- to be drunk each season during that season. would you drink a 10+ year old version of your own fresh hopped IPA?

Celebration just recently is fresh hopped.  Older versions were not.

The only two commercially  made Christmas beers I truly enjoy and will go out of my way to stock up on are Celebration and Samichlaus.  There are  a  few others I find "pretty good", but these two I've mentioned are the only ones I find to be as satisfying as a good homebrewed one.

Regarding Samichlaus, one year I found  a bottle I had unintentionally tucked away...it was in a corner of a basement cupboard for more than 7 years (and possibly as much as 10).   It was in remarkable shape and smooth as  silk.  I don't think I would intentionally buy Samiclaus to cellar it  since I enjoy it quite a bit in its original bottling year, but it was interesting to discover how well a filtered strong beer can hold up after so many years.

I've got Celebration from the late '90s and Sammy from 2000 +.

It's a lot of fun doing a vertical tasting seeing how the recipe has changed, and when the accountants got ahold of it.

My old club allowed newbies a pass on the first meeting.  Allowed to tasted after the paid members were served.  After the first meeting only allowed to participate if dues were paid.  Stopped the moochers.

realbeergal wants a TurDuckEn this year.  We'll get some fresh May River Oysters, antipasta, green bean casarole (I'll look up the GF recipe), sweet potatoes (with marshmellows of course) and sweet potatoe biscuits from a recipe I found in Philly.

We come from the Central Jersey area like the Professor, and spent LOTS of time on Long beach Island.  Our old house in Lower Sayreville was under 10 ft water (glad I'm in SC). Family in Woodbridge OK, wind little rain, power out 3-5 days.

 Tom, from what I hear the old shack to the right of the LBI causeway is still there!
