So the club girls going commando are actually wearing micro-kilts? :)

It's not "commando" in a kilt. It's "regimental."

I'll have to remember that.  so commando is what, just for pants and shorts?  If you go commando in a skirt you're actually just regimental in your kilt?  I'm really just trying to understand. :)

That's amazing, surely it must have been recharged at some point.  It must use freon, right?  Can they even put R22 or whatever they use nowadays in something like that?  That's really cool, I'm totally jealous.

I need to get a new bottle fridge, the old one is really inefficient.
No, it runs on sulphur dioxide.  All original.
SO2? Never heard of that being used as a refrigerant, that's incredible.  So jealous.

Yup, Kilts are the only attire that can be worn while brewing...the ONLY attire.

:D

Be sure to remember that if you wear underwear it's a skirt and no longer a kilt.

Now there's a good idea, beer, booze, drinking, etc lyrics:

"If I was a Mekon, I'd drink pints of beer"

My pants come off as soon as possible when I get home, and the neighbors know to call before they come over for just that reason.  So anything I do in the evenings I generally do pantsless.  That includes taking the garbage to the curb, although I at least wait until after dark.  I've also been known to garden in my kilt, very comfortable.

As for risking burns, I was in my boxers boiling some starter wort on my heated stir-plate and shattered some glassware, got second degree burns on my leg.

Extract/Partial Mash Brewing / Re: "Black I.P.A" recipe
« on: September 11, 2010, 03:17:30 PM »
This practice was also reiterated by an award winning extract brewer at this year's AHA Conference.
Yeah, but Tanner doesn't know anything!

Just kidding, I missed his talk but he told me he mentioned brewing with an old mystery can of malt extract.  I'm the one who gave it to him :)  I have a bottle of that batch sitting in my fridge, it's surprisingly good all things considered.

Yeah, I'd look at mixing as the issue, especially if you late extract.  Even my friends who mashed with unmilled grain got better than 1.012.

Yeast and Fermentation / Re: sugar added to secondary
« on: September 11, 2010, 09:38:53 AM »
I don't secondary, but if I did I wouldn't bother with it.  I'd just give it a blast of CO2, but you might not have that option.  Depending on how long your primary is though, there might already be enough going on to purge it anyway.  I don't think what you're doing hurts necessarily, just adds risk of contamination with questionable rewards.

But anyway, I think you should examine why you are doing a secondary in the first place and if you really need to.  Many of us don't feel like it adds anything to most beers.

But...but...but...effect has a c in it, too!   ???

And... AND... "Change" and "Create" both start with "C"!

Yes, have some.
