Ingredients / Re: Mosaic Hops?
« on: December 29, 2012, 05:35:20 pm »
I did a all Mosaic IPA about 6 weeks ago, just finished the dry hopping.

 1oz FWH
 60 min. boil
 .75 @ 15
 .75 @ 10
 .75 @ 5
 .75 @ 0
1 dry hop for 5 days.

I must say my initial tastes were amazing. I detect a distinct blueberry note and maybe even some blackberry/currant. I used whole hops from freshops, thank you Dave Wills for making this available to the homebrew community.

If you mix corn starch and rubbing alcohol and wipe it on a fridge that is not plugged in, then turn the fridge on, the heat generated by internal coils will theoretically warm faster than areas without coils. This may show you where warm coils are located because the alcohol will evaporate faster above the coils leaving a dry line of corn starch.

The one thing I would recommend is using Perlick faucets. Seems the cheaper ones tend to stick. Well worth the extra couple bucks. I bought this, http://www.williamsbrewing.com/PERLICK-FORWARD-SEAL-FAUCET-WITH-SHANK-P1476.aspx. All I had to do was drill hole in door for the shank, then remove the picnic tap from the hose, and clap hose to nipple. Done and done. I also got another temp controller for my kegerator. http://titaniumbrewing.com/?p=207
