How do you chill your wort?

I use an immersion chiller for chilling the wort after the boil. I made an immersion chiller out of soft copper tubing. I wrapped it around a corny keg and added some compression fittings.

How do you chill your wort after the boil?

I use a Maxi-Chiller that bought in the mid 1990's...

About 2 years ago I bought a Therminator which is still sitting in the box...

Maybe I should use that a couple times eh?

I use a copper immersion chiller.

I use the first few gallons of the water ( which is warmest ) and fill a plastic tub with Oxyclean and PBW then use that to clean my equipment.  Then I use the rest to water the garden, flowers, kids, etc ( it's cooled down considerably by then so please don't call child services).

B3 Super Chiller (50' 1/2" copper).  Chills my 5 gallon batches down to 60F in about 15 minutes.

50' of 1/2" copper along with a March pump to whirlpool to wort. I start with tap water until I reach 100 and then switch to ice water.

40' copper IC double wrapped.  Once around a coffee can & once around a 5 gallon pail.  My well water is ~54F year round so it cools great.  I manually whirlpool & fill a party tub with hot water for cleaning stuff later. Once its full I run it outside onto the yard. It cools 10 gallons to ~60 in about 20 minutes.  Some day I'll add a march pump to whirlpool & other duties.

25' immersion chiller.  Gets it down to ~60 in 20 minutes, depending on the time of year it may be quicker.  My well water is ~  45 - 50F.

I use a 50 ft. 3/8" immersion chiller with recirculation.  I pump wort out of the kettle and back over the chiller.  With my well water, the other day I went from boiling to 58F in under 15 min.

Give it a shot! I use one, with city tap water, 10 gal from boiling to ale pitch temp in 10 min on a gravity system w/ 2.5 ft. of head. I love it. 8)

Time to upgrade I guess. I've got a 20' 3/8" with a $20 pond pump to recirculate . Takes forever compared to the rest of you guys.

A 50 ft 3/8 double coil imersion chiller which doubles as my aeration system, and it works really well on some really big beers.

60' 3/8" softcopper I coiled around a 3lb coffee can.  It takes about 15 min for 10 gallons in the summer.

$45.
