merry Christmas/happy holiday of choice everybody
« on: December 24, 2011, 01:42:54 pm »
I hope everybody has a great safe and happy weekend.  I'm turning the computer off to try and enjoy Christmas Eve and Christmas morning with my family.
I'd really just rather be brewing in sunny Carlsbad New Mexico

Bummer, euge!  That sounds like the kind of thing that would happen to me!  Hope you (and everyone else) enjoy the holiday somehow!

Merry Christmas! Here's what we just got done eating:

Latkes, apple sauce, homemade cranberry sauce, Guinea fowl (Pintade) stuffed with foie gras and morels, and a mesclun salad with walnuts, stilton, geziers confit (duck gizzards) and a port vinagrette dressing. Gonna have a little Brasserie Dieu du Ciel Route des épices and some Gateau Trianon (wife took three days to make it!)

Mele Kalikimaka kakou!

Christmas on Sunday.  I like it best this way.

15 years in the power plant saw me working on Christmas more than once.  No way around it - it sucks
Thank you all who work on Christmas!  Thank you for being there when we need you.

It was short notice but anytime my supervisor asks me to work I jump on it. I owe it to him. It'll be fun. Most jobs I've ever worked had odd hours and required working weekends and holidays. :)

Kids are asleep, all three of 'em.

Wife is off working Midnight Mass (violin).

Sipping a stout and making some starters (three, cuz I can't decide).

Then I'll wrap presents, since I haven't yet.

I haven't turned the computer off, like Corky, because I need epicurious for the scalloped potatoes.

Merry Christmas!
