Well that's good to know! The mystery deepens.

Though I haven't tried it I think anyone can lock a thread they started. Or used to be able to do that. One way would be to delete your OG post to get rid of the entire thing.

When you start a thread you can lock it, and/or remove it using the functions located at the bottom left of the page.  You can unlock it the same way.  I accidently locked a thread I started by clicking on lock topic function instead of the go up function.  When I figured out my boo boo I unlocked it.
