Chinook

OK, time for the Chinook APA today. 

Question:  how is it for aroma?  At 12.5% bittering and flavor should be OK, but not sure about the final addition and dry hop.  I hope someone is recovering from last night's homebrews and can lead me in the right direction in the next couple of hours!

I like Chinook for aroma. I've done a few single-hop IPAs (bittering, aroma, dry) with Chinook and they turn out well. I got primarily piney aromas, with earthy flavor.

I prefer using Chinook as a bittering hop and as a dry hop.  It's great as a dry hop.  I think using Chinook for anything in the middle produces smoky and spicy flavors.  So I use cascade for everything in the middle.

I have had good experiences with Chinook as an aroma hop.  I have made a few beers where I only used Chinook and they were great.  I second nateo, I usually get piney/earthy aromas from Chinook when using it at the 10min or less mark and dry hop.

I made 1oz additions at 60, 30 and 1 minute.  Will dry hop an ounce as well.  Smelled fantastic!

Chinook is great for a single hopped beer.  Piney, citrusy deliciousness.
