I got to see Doc when was touring with Jack Lawrence several times. Absolutely amazing. Makes me want to snap this old beat up Martin I got across my knee.

 I lot of folks don't relalize that Earl was a very good guitar player also.

saw him shred his banjo last fall in la. one of the best shows I've ever seen. he had a huge grin on his face from beginning to end.
