NHC Pre-Conference Events
« on: February 10, 2010, 10:35:06 am »
Does anyone know what the organizers have in mind for this year's pre-conference events?

Thanks,

Howdy, Jake Keeler from Northern Brewer here..

I can say for certain, NB will hosting tours of our warehouse facility all week leading up to the big weekend.  We will also be having some guest speakers, book signings, and other homebrew-centric activities at our St. Paul store, warehouse, and Milwaukee location as well (for those that can't drive the 5 hours!).  We are also in the process of planning a party for the pre-conference die-hards.  Details are still being hashed out, but I can tell you that several groups will be involved...and there will be a ton of beer.

As our plans firm up, we will post more information on our website - http://www.northernbrewer.com

And while your here, VOTE for AHA Governing committee members....not saying you have to vote for me, just vote for those you think represent your voice.  (but don't vote for Crossley, he's a wanker  ;))

We're counting down the days to NHC!  Cheers!

Totally just out of curiousity:  anyone know why the pre-conference info isn't on the AHA conference website or linked from it as it usually is?  Or is the mnchillin.com info still in the planning stages?

That's a good question, Gail.  Maybe one of the AHA staff can fill us in.

Thanks for the precon info. Are their any requirements/prereqs in doing one
of the tours?

Denny, have you done anything Lambic?
What about a Lambic/Funk section?

We're working on getting the pre-conference events posted to the AHAConference.org site.  We just got the request to post them today.  It should be posted within the next day or two.

Cheers!

A couple times....

As to a separate "Wild Beers" section, we'd really rather not expand the categories more than they are now.  But we'll take another look at it if we get a lot of requests.

gandelf, NB will be posting information about our tours and other events for the NHC as the conference gets closer, probably sometime this Spring.  Tour goers will likely need to register in advance, so we can schedule the tours out and ensure we have smaller groups (10-20).  But, the tours will be FREE and fun.

As things get nailed down, we will post information at our website - http://www.northernbrewer.com
