Injection marinade for chicken
«

Doing a deep fried whole chicken tomorrow. About 8.5 lbs and I'm thinking of trying to inject some more flavour into the bird.
Anyone have a good injection marinade recipes?

Wow...seriously? No replies? I thought American's either smoked or deep fried all their meals.
I skipped the injection and just deep fried the bird. Very good but I think a shot of flavour into the meat would have made it awesome.

Sorry man, I don't inject and/or deep fry things. Smoked a bunch of wings, a chicken, and some hatch chile ABTs today though. Fantastic.

Sorry man, I wanted to reply but have little experience with this. Have fried whole turkeys this way but injected clarified butter IIRC.
For the chickens a brine would have been appropriate but if you want to inject I would think something based in citrus (orange juice)
or
soy sauce.

No problem guys. I figured if someone had an idea they'd have said so. Next time I'll try a brine or just whip up something. I had this crazy idea of doing a reverse buffalo wing. Butter and hot sauce injected all through the meat and then into the fryer. I don't have any pre-made marinades, just access to veterinary syringes and love of fried foods.

I inject our chicken with Soy Sauce regularly with results we love.
But it mostly gets baked or grilled....not fried.

Chef M to the rescue:
Fried Turkey marinade
I inject fried turkeys with this marinade, and use it to marinade/baste whole pork sirloins for the grill too. Don't see why it won't work on chicken.
I've tried it with and without the Zatarain's crab boil. I like it way better with it in. I like spicy.

Want more flavor look for old laying chickens (old=18 months) the cook them up. I would inject supermarket chickens with tumeric, cumin, garlic, onion, mexican oregano, salt, pepper, paprika (smoked)and cayanne pepper.
