Keg Mash/Lauter Tun Insulation
« on: September 10, 2012, 09:24:59 AM »
Does anyone have any recommendations on how to insulate a mash/lauter tun converted from a 15-gal SS keg?  (materials and general how-to)

If it is not direct fired, then there is silver 'bubble wrap' insulation at hardware stores normally used to wrap water heaters. Or for the upsell, wrap it in wood planks which will look awesome. If you direct fire it then not much I believe.

If it's direct fired I have seen people use metal wool or rock wool (fiber glass) sheethed in metal flashing.
