Nothing brewing, but our club is filing a barrel this weekend. And I need to bottle some beer off a couple kegs to free them up.

I'm brewing the President's honey pale ale to have it ready in time for election night, and my first Black IPA.  Should be fun!

Probably a SN Celebration style IPA.  I'd like to do a Dubbel or Strong Dark, but I won't have time to make a starter so I'm thinking something for which I can use dry yeast.

I'd brew, but the mercury is pointing to 102 tomorrow and Saturday, so forget that!

It's awful isnt' it?  Hopefully it will break soon.

Doing my first partigyle! Not sure what the two beers will end up being.
Take it easy...

I keep hoping, but of course they just revised the numbers: 106 thanks to the fact that we're getting air in off the desert now thanks to the pressure system parked over the basin and no real break in the 10 day. We're supposed to get down to 95F a week from Sunday.

The only blessing - the humidity has gone back down.

I brewed a sweet stout yesterday, nothing fancy.  I plan to add chocolate to some of it, see how I like it.

I brewed a helles with wlp833 yesterday.
Thinking about trying brew in a bag soon...
I was cleaning my 10 gallon round mashtun and noticed that the plastic lining was loose and I was able to pull it out of there...makes me think that it's insulating abilities aren't very good anymore.  I like the ability to add direct heat to the mashtun with BIAB.  Of course, I'd have something on the bottom to keep the bag from being directly on the burner to prevent scorching.

cool, I did that same split a few weeks ago. don't have my notes on me but perhaps we can compare later. I remember one being much tarter than the other.

Bottled my Belgian Tripel last weekend.  I have a friend who wants help with a Pumpkin Ale.  Might just have to do that this weekend!  Just have to decide if we want to actually use pumpkin in the recipe, or just the "pumpkin pie type" spices to give it that characteristic flavor.   Anyone have a preferred method?
