Campden tablets
« on: September 13, 2012, 03:49:06 pm »
I usually use RO water and adjust it according to style.  However, I can't this Sunday and I was wondering how much Campden to use for 8 gallons?

IIRC, it's 1 tab/gallon.

IIRC, it's 1 tab/gallon.

That's the dosage when used to inhibit microbe growth in wine must.

When you're using it to treat brewing water for chloramine 1 tablet will treat 20 gallons, but you can use it in less.

Yeah or just a bit less.  Break it in half, use the smaller half (since I've never been able to break one evenly).

Fermenting: Krampusnacht Holiday Ale

Ok, has nothing to do with the original topic but...  I've just gotta see the label for what you're fermenting :)

It's still under development but I'll be sure to share when I get it done  ;D

Although at the rate that beer is going it might be next year's holiday ale.
