bitsy tipsy?
« on: September 19, 2012, 02:24:22 PM »
As I'm told the Germans say. I have a friend who lived in Germany for a few years. He was telling me how they would sit around from late afternoon till late at night eating sausages, playing cards etc... and drinking beer. LOTS of beer. But, he said no one ever got drunk . Buzzed yes, but not drunk. He said the secret was a bowl of I guess candies on the table. Small and white, he said they looked like Pez. He has no idea what they were, or had in them, but they sure did the trick. He said you could drink large amounts of brew without getting drunk. Anyone else hear of such a tale, or know what it might have been?

Amphetamines?

What's that stuff you can get a truck stops (or used to could)? No Doz?

Sounds like a rocking party.  They didn't grind those things up, by any chance, did they?

I'll second the No-Doz idea, or maybe diet pills?

I'm normally going on 4-5 hours of sleep most days, so I go from "buzzed" to "passed out" pretty quickly. But on the rare occasion that I want to get real ripped I mix Absinthe with either Mt Dew or Full Throttle energy drink. The caffeine is usually enough to pull me through.
