Repitching post lager?

Going to brew a kolsch ferment in the 60s for a couple weeks and then lager it for a few months, 2-3? My question is: will I need to repitch at bottling. Or can I just bottle?

Why are you going to lager a kolsch for more than 2-3 weeks (4 at most)? These beers are best when fresh.

Extended lagering was suggested by Jamil Z. on his show on kolsch /altbier I believe. That is where I got my information. If the information is wrong I am more than happy to go with a shorter duration.

Revisited the podcast: he says 1-2 months.

Anything over 4 weeks is not necessary. Breweries on Cologne lager for a couple of weeks, not usually more than 3. I have brewed a lot of kolsch over the years and 2 weeks lagering is all you need (a little fining is recommended though).

addressing this concept though, i use to lager for several months and then warm up at bottling without repitching. thought worked okay. i now bottle first and then lager for about 60 days. all my beers get long term cold storage because i drink too slowly
