The awe with which man has regarded this natural process finds spontaneous expression in the fact that the animating essence produced by fermentation is identified in language with the essence of human life, both being designated by the term "spirit."

Not to be technical, but according to chemistry alcoholic beverages are solutions, but alcohol is not. It is a molecule.

okay so it's part of a solution. and if you're not part of a solution, your part of the precipitate

A *class* of organic molecules. ;)
Beer is like porn. You can buy it, but it's more fun to make your own.

Intelligence is knowing that a tomato is a fruit.
Wisdom is knowing not to put it in a fruit beer.

Pumpkin is a fruit too, so why aren't the pumpkin beers in the fruit beer category?  Actually they usually include fruit and spice so they should go in the Category 23 Other (or "Specialty").
