What's Brewing This Weekend - 12/28 Edition
« on: December 27, 2012, 09:12:40 am »
Christmas has been buried for the next year. New Year's is almost here and I'm laughing at the gathering of RV's that has already begun around my house for the Rose Bowl Parade.

You?

Nothing here.  I'm done for 2012.  All the fermenters are filled at the moment.  Next batch will be in mid-January.

I'm brewing a German Pilsner on New Year's Day, using the yeast that is working on my Munich Helles right now.

That is if it stops doing this crap:

Bottling my Belgian Amber tonight and possibly starting up a batch of maple wine. No actual brewing, but I need to plan my first brew for the new year. The wife is starting to complain about lack of freezer space, so I need to start using up some of this year's hops hoard.
Check out my blog: Critical Tastings
In Primary: Table Saison, BDG
In Secondary: Blackberry-Lemon Melomel; "Orvalled" Barleywine; Cider; Maple Wine
In Bottles: IIPA; Düsseldorf IPA; Quad; Roast Porter; Helles Hop Hammer; Oatmeal Brown
On Deck: ESB, India Black Saison

I'm kegging my Backyard IPA that has 100% of my 2012 personal hop harvest.  Won't have time for a standard batch so I'm thinking about making a big bad stout extract/steep grain style.
Thank you BEER!

Preparing a starter for a RIS that will be my first beer for 2013. I plan to brew it next weekend. This weekend I'll be kegging a Dubbel and tapping a Belgian White. Hope 2012 was a good one for everyone. Let's also hope that 2013 will bring new ideas and better beer for all of here on the forum. Peace!

Happy New Year!  8)

Trying my first time at re-pitching yeast from a bitter to a dark mild. Bitter is tasting good and almost honey like out of the primary. hmm

Going to brew 10 gallons of RIS tomorrow.  Half will go into a 5 gallon barrel that barley wine just vacated.

Brewing up a Citra-heavy IPA tomorrow morning, and cleaning a couple recently emptied kegs.

I'm going to brew a 10 gallon batch of Brown Porter Saturday. The last batch of it was a very nice "session" beer.

Happy New Year!!

Brewing a 10-gallon batch of Pliny clone with my AHA buddy on New Year's Day.  Hell of a way to start the New Year!

I brewed a hopped up American brown ale yesterday (India Brown Ale, in other words) and tomorrow I'm brewing black IPA. Got 26 batches brewed in 2012, most ever for me by about 10 batches.

No brewing for me.  My wife and I went to Savannah for a couple days and are now in St. Augustine.  Some beer drinking was involved.
