Removing keg lube?

(1/4) > >>

roguejim:
How do you remove keg lube from the cornie o-ring?  Also, from the inside top of the keg where the oring sits?

tschmidlin:
A paper towel works.  You can safely leave it there, but if you have a huge amount on it then a quick wipe will take off enough.  You want there to be a little left on the o-rings.

roguejim:
Very interesting to me...So, the guys who like the "rocking" method of carbing fear not they their brew will be sloshing against keg lube.

tschmidlin:
Keg lube is food grade and not really soluble in water or beer anyway, so I don't worry about it.

gmwren:
I swapped from LubriFilm (keg lube) to CIP-Film due to the lower melting temperature. Its melting point is 120F and I don't feel like I've handled a sappy Griswold Christmas Tree after using it.
