2010 Goose Island Pere Jaques
« on: November 16, 2010, 08:52:25 am »
Just had this one again the other night and man is it tasty! rich dark fruits and caramel with hardly any noticable alchohol (Although its there for sure) gentle belgian character but not thin at all. YUM

Matilda is one of my favorite commercial beers...... I am still looking for a recipe.

Big bottle says pale ale with brett. Little bottle says no such thing.
The moral majority, is neither.

Matilda is aged with Brett.  I can't recall for sure, but I believe they had it in wood barrels at the AHA rally brewery tour.  I'd had a few Pere Jacques before the tour, and the Matilda casks were at the free hops stand so I was a but tippled and preoccupied loading up on hops.

Pere Jacques is my favorite of their Belgian style ales. Very nice.
