Hey, Dave, I know all about being being a butthead...it's one of my specialties!  I'm well aware of the Jamil "persona", but my personal experience with him is very much the opposite of that.  I guess you need to get to NHC and meet him yourself!

Denny, you, sir, have always been a gentleman and a scholar, at least on the forums.  Can't say I've ever met you yet either, so who knows for sure whether you truly are a gentleman or a butthead, but you are one person that I do hope to meet one day.

Good show.  It's got good stories about Sam, the team, the business and his family which are entertaining. It is elementary so that everyone will enjoy it.  When American Choppers started, Sr., Jr. and Mikey were pretty lame too. Who knew what a tripple tree or what a primary was. The stories 10 years later are more about the people involved and less about the bikes.

Sam appears exactly the way he writes is in his book "Brewing Up a Business." (Adventures in Entrepreneurship).  Is there an entrepreneur that isn't high minded? All of the professional brewers I've met (not a gross generalization and not that I've met more than 20) seem to be pretty high on themselves and I think that is good for their product.  Most of them would be terrible on TV, but not Sam.  He's a great spokesman (other than the Geico Gecko).

If Jim Kock or Fritz Maytag were the hosts, the show would be centered around them.  So far the three episodes have gone from who he and the brewery is through

I definitely like the show. Sam is a bit of a bro, but it doesn't bother me. True, I would prefer a show more like, "Great Chefs, Great Cities" that visited different breweries around the world and showed their unique processes, but I don't think any one brewery would make for better television than DFH - and I don't particularly like their beer.

The show is getting better and better. I really enjoyed the bread artist! Just wish I could get ahold of some of the beers from the show.

i liked the second episode more than the first.  i find anything on brewing entertaining, and considering the "quality" programing on tv these days i will say its a WIN!

Slight variation.  One is corn prepared with saliva the other is corn that tastes like saliva.

I sort of liked the shows so far.  I'm not sure the general public will keep tuning in, though, especially if Sam insists on making beer like Chicha..sort of sickening, no?

The New Zealand beer episode puzzled me: Why did he add the Tamarillo to the mash?  The judges mostly downgraded the beer because of little fruit taste.  I've always used fruit in the secondary, with good results.  Sam should have known better.

I agree with some of the other posters about the general format of the show.  It's similar to many other similar reality "gotta make the big deadline" shows.  Why must there always be some sort of "we're running out of time" drama?

As for Sam's rap thing, I'm an old fart, so I don't like it, but I guess they're looking to please you younger guys. 

I am happy for Sam's success with DFH, and if he can make a great living at what he loves to do, more power to him.

To my surprise I am liking it more every episode.
At least the the brewing info is correct. Not detailed but correct.
