Back in the 90's, I remember playing a BBQ juke joint in Syracuse, NY called Dinasoar BBQ and after the gig the bartender told us Pinetop was playing the next night. All I could think was that I wanted to stay to see him perform but we had to leave the next morning to play another gig in Pennsylvania the next night.
I've crossed paths with the late great Pinetop Perkins on several occasions in my musical career but never got to see him perform live. Pinetop was a true "boogie woogie" master in his own right and one of the last few remaining "old school" blues masters. He will be missed but never forgotten.
There's a cut that I really like called "high heeled sneakers" where his piano and vocal really shines. My favorite for sure. I can't seem to find it at the moment but here's a couple of awesome cuts from Pinetop.
