In honor of “Hug A Canadian Week” at the AHA, this edition of the AHA Club Profile features some of our members from the Great White North, the fine folks of Ale & Lager Enthusiasts Of Saskatchewan (ALES).
ALES is a homebrewing club based out of Regina, Saskatchewan, with upwards of 50 members, from beginners to experts, all grain brewers to kit brewers and everything in between.
ALES is one of the oldest homebrewing clubs in North America, with membership dating back to 1980 and consistently rated as one of the top five clubs according to the American Homebrewers Association's Club Points system. ALES also hosts the only Canadian qualifying competition for the AHA's National Homebrew Competition.
Club meetings are held the first Wednesday of each month from September to June. The Clubroom is located downstairs at the Bushwakker Brewpub. All newcomers are welcome to attend their first meeting for free, after which membership fees are $20 (Canadian) per year.
