2012 Scholarship Winner

Lallemand, the makers of Danstar dry yeasts and Servomyces yeast nutrient, is proud to announce the winner of the 13th Annual Lallemand Scholarship.

Congratulations to John Karmazin of Claremore, OK.  John's entry was drawn during the Grand Banquet & Awards Ceremony at the AHA National Homebrewers Conference in Seatte, WA on June 23th, 2012.

Scholarship Details

The Lallemand Scholarship is awarded to a member of the American Homebrewers Association, and provides full tuition to the 2013 web-based World Brewing Academy's Concise Course in Brewing Technology.

This course (valued at $ 3,700) will provide students with comprehensive knowledge of the brewing process, the dynamics of brewery operations, and socioeconomic issues affecting the industry. The Concise Course covers the full range of technical topics from raw materials through brewing, fermentation, maturation, filtration and packaging. Whether you are considering a career in professional brewing or you are simply looking to maximize your home brewing skills, this will be the experience of a lifetime. With the web-based nature of the course, students don't need to take time off work or travel to our campus, saving both time and money.

How to Enter

AHA Members may enter the contest by filling out the online entry form. You can find your AHA member number on your AHA member card or Zymurgy magazine mailing label. If you can't find your membership number, email info@brewersassociation.org, or call, 888-822-6273. If you would like to become an AHA member, see Join.

The contest entry forms must be submitted before midnight on June 1, 2013 (MT).  Only one entry form per AHA Member will be accepted.*

* AHA Members can get an additional entry in the contest by submitting a ballot for the AHA Governing Committee election in March.  All ballots must be submitted by midnight PST, April 1, 2013.

Scholarship Rules

• Awarded courses must be completed within one year.
• Winners must provide a written report of their Siebel experience to the AHA/Brewers Association/Lallemand/Siebel.  Rights to publish this report and photographs of the winner are granted to the AHA/Brewers Association, Siebel and Lallemand.

The following are ineligible for the scholarship:

• AHA Governing Committee members
• Brewers Association Board of Directors members
• Brewers Association / American Homebrewers Association employees (see Contact Us)
• Siebel employees
• Lallemand employees
• Anyone who has previously been awarded any scholarship to the Siebel Institute
