The winners of the Club-Only competition earn points for their homebrew club on a 12-8-4 basis for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. Club points from the Club-Only Competition go toward the point total for the AHA Homebrew Club of the Year award (see National Homebrew Competition).

The AHA thanks Deborah Lee and Hop Barley & the Alers of Boulder, CO for hosting the Mead Club-Only Competition held August 8, 2010. This competition covered mead categories 24, 25, and 26 of the 2008 BJCP style guidelines. This was the first of six competitions in the August to May 2010-2011 cycle, with points going toward the Homebrew Club of the Year trophy. Points are awarded on a twelve-eight-four basis for first, second, and third place in the Club-Only Competitions. First, second, and third places in both the First and Final Round of the AHA National Homebrew Competition earn points on a six-four-two basis.

This competition covered beers made with 50% or more malt extraxct in categories 1-23 of the 2008 BJCP style guidelines. This was the sixth and final competition in the August to May 2009-2010 cycle, with points going toward the Homebrew Club of the Year trophy. Points are awarded on a twelve-eight-four basis for first, second, and third place in the Club-Only Competitions. First, second, and third places in both the First and Final Round of the AHA National Homebrew Competition earn points on a six-four-two basis.
