Results from the Homebrewers Association Club-Only Competitions as well as the current homebrew club points for the August 2011-May 2012 competition year are shown below. The winners of the Club-Only competition earn points for their homebrew club on a 12-8-4 basis for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.  Club points from the Club-Only Competition go toward the point total for the AHA Homebrew Club of the Year award (see National Homebrew Competition).

Club-Only Competition Results for 2011-2012

Hail to Hefeweizen Competition (December 3, 2011)

The AHA thanks Brian Steuerwald and the Foam Blowers of Indiana (FBI) club of Indianapolis, IN for hosting the "Hail to Hefeweizen" Club-Only Competition held December 3, 2011. This competition covered category 15 of the 2008 BJCP Style Guidelines. This was the third of six competitions in the August to May 2011-2012 cycle, with points going toward the Homebrew Club of the Year trophy. Points are awarded on a twelve-eight-four basis for first, second, and third place in the Club-Only Competitions. First, second, and third places in both the First and Final Round of the AHA National Homebrew Competition earn points on a six-four-two basis.

Of the 60 entries submitted by AHA homebrew clubs in 29 States, the following winners were chosen.

Specialty Beer Competition (October 29, 2011)

The AHA thanks David Houseman and the Brewers United Zany Zymurgists (BUZZ) club of West Chester, PA for hosting the Specialty Beer Club-Only Competition held October 29, 2011. This competition covered category 23 of the 2008 BJCP Style Guidelines. This was the second of six competitions in the August to May 2011-2012 cycle, with points going toward the Homebrew Club of the Year trophy.

The AHA thanks Susan Ruud and the Prairie Homebrewing Companions of Hawley, MN for hosting the Mead Club-Only Competition held August 27, 2011. This competition covered categories 24, 25, and 26 of the 2008 BJCP Style Guidelines. This was the first of six competitions in the August to May 2011-2012 cycle, with points going toward the Homebrew Club of the Year trophy.

Congratulations to The Brewing Network club winning the AHA Club of the Year award for 2011!  Here are the point totals for the top 25 clubs in the 2010-2011 competition year.  AHA clubs earn points for placing 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in each of the six Club-Only Competitions (COC); placing 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in the First Round of the National Homebrew Competition (NHC); and placing 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in the Final Round of the NHC.
