How to Celebrate

Celebrate Mead Day!Before the event

  • Register your Mead Day event on the AHA Forum under the Events board; this is a great way to let others know of your event.
  • Hang up a Mead Day promo poster in your homebrew shop and around town; or hang up your own Mead Day Site flyer to promote the event and your site around your town.
  • Edit and send the Mead Day customizable press release to local newspapers, radio, and TV stations to promote your Mead Day site.
  • Invite friends and family to help make mead.
  • Hold a special pre-event mead dinner for Mead Day friends or family.

During the event

  • Brew the official Mead Day Recipe.
  • Take photos/video of your Mead Day event and later post them to FaceBook and YouTube. Be sure to use “AHA Mead Day 2010” in the title to ensure they can be easily searched. Adding tags like “mead", "homebrew" & "meadmaking” will also help search functions.
  • Tell friends and family about other American Homebrewers Association fun events, like Big Brew, National Homebrewers Conference, and Learn To Homebrew Day.
  • Provide mead-making literature for your friends to read, like The Compleat Meadmaker, by Ken Schramm and other meadmaking books. Order your copy today!
  • Share mead with others, pair your mead with food, and have fun!
  • Join the American Homebrewers Association or buy an AHA membership as a gift for new homebrewers or meadmakers, and receive a copy of Ken Schramm's, The Compleat Meadmaker plus be entered in a drawing for a bottle of mead!  Check out the details on this Special Mead Day Offer!
  • Have new homebrewers or meadmakers check out the AHA Homebrewopedia for up-to-date meadmaking information.

After the Event

  • Post your photos/video of your Mead Day event to FaceBook and YouTube.
