Mead Competitions through the Year

Most homebrew competitions accept mead entries, but a few competitions accept only mead entries.  Here are a few of the mead-only competitions.  To find other competitions and to get the entry deadlines for these mead-only competitions, look at the AHA Calendar or see AHA/BJCP Sanctioned Competitions.

January

Meadlennium is hosted by the Central Florida Home Brewers in Orlando, Florida, USA. This is the second largest mead-only competition and is also the longest-running mead-only competition (since 1998). Meadlennium is a BJCP/AHA sanctioned event held annually on the last Saturday in January in Orlando, Florida.

Spring

Mazer Cup International is held in Denver/Boulder, Colorado, USA. The competition is the largest Mead-Only contest. It is a BJCP/AHA sanctioned event. It includes amateur and professional competitions.

May

The Goblets of Gold mead competition takes place in Homer, Alaska, USA. This competition is hosted by the Q & Q Brewers Guild and the Ring of Fire Meadery, and it is a BJCP/AHA sanctioned event.
