Follow up article says it was not tested since 1996.

Sounds like somebody's gonna be in trouble for filling it.

That is how the follow up reads. IIRC, the gas company is recalling tanks to check that those are current.

Even though the 20 lb tank I have is brand new, I'm still always going to wonder... ???

But 17 years without test...I wouldn't be surprised if this gas company gets their license suspended, especially if they find more tanks out there.

Every time I get my tank filled the first thing the guy looks at is the test date on it. Apparently not everyone does that.

I exchange my tanks and I know that my gas company checks my returns every time.

Definitely they check the dates when I get my tanks filled.  If it's hot out, they even tell me to not leave the tanks in the car.  NFC Gas in Chicago.  Great place.

I have too many tanks, so it seems like every time I take on in I need to get it recertified...
