Title: How Many Gallons Have You Brewed This Year?
Post by: In The Sand on August 11, 2013, 01:12:50 AM
Just curious.  I've done 116 gallons so far, but hopefully I'll double that by the end of the year.

I brew 5 a week unless I'm doing lagers, then I do ten gallons every four weeks. So, December 31st I'll be just a few ounces under 200

34... Between moving into a new House and going to NHC, it's been  a slow year.

I brew 1-2 three-gallon batches a month on average, so I'm probably in the 30-40 gallon ballpark. Which is fine, since I generally only drink about a case a month.

I generally brew on a fiscal year schedule.  Starts in the Fall when the ground cools and ends around May when the weather heats up again.  Normally 5-6 5gal batches Jan to May and 6-8 Oct thru Dec.  So in 2013, 30 gal.

Except for parties its only me drinking it so anymore and just get so far ahead on supply I'd never catch up.

Looking back on my records I've brewed 73 gallons.  21 - 3 gallon batches and 2 - 5 gallon batches.  It's good to have thirsty friends and neighbors or I wouldn't be able to brew this much!

80 gallons so far.  I've had years where I've brewed more, but with the kids outside activities at a high level this year, I'm pleased. The consistency has been good.  +1 to having friends help drink it or I wouldn't have brewed that much.

I've brewed 80 or 85 gallons. I don't have my notes here, but I've brewed 14 batches. Two were 10 gallons for sure... There might have been one more ten gallon batch. The plan was to brew 30 batches this year, but I took 2 1/2 months off in the spring to get some graduate school work completed. I did my best to get back on pace in July, but we will come up short. I will be shooting for 25 now.

I just added them up, and I am at 55 gallons.  A little behind schedule, mostly because I took a hiatus between November and March.

I only keep records of my recipes, but unfortunately they all have volumes associated with them so I'm self-incriminating I suppose.

88 gallons so far, I was hoping to hit around 150-160 this year so I'm on pace!

Just added another fermentation chamber though, so I could hit my 200 gallons.  ;D

About sixty gallons at home, but in the two months I've been working at the brewery, we've brewed approximately 650 bbls. Not exactly a fair comparison...

Looks like I am going to be at 30 gallons for the whole year  :'( been traveling since NHC, and I don't have a house, so I don't have a brewspace. But we should move into our new house in early December, and then I will brew up a storm.

At my second job as a brewer I've done 35 bbls since starting at the end of July.

145 gallons of can't-remove-it-from-of-my-home creations this year.   ;)

turn the poll results 90 degrees counter-clockwise and it approximates my feelings towards the KS ABC.

Maybe the AHA can work on legislation to up the home production limit.  200 gals just isnt reasonable when you live in an area with minimal good beer choices.

That works out to 3 6-packs a week for each of the 2 adults living in the house, I can't imagine that would be an easy limit to raise.  On the other hand, how do they know how much you brewed?

I figure if I start getting around that 200 gallon limit, and there isn't a big event that year, its going to be time for my friends to start homebrewing.

on the other hand, that's just over 2 beers a night per adult IF there are only 2 living in the house. if there are three adults and the limit is still 200 gallons then your down to less than 1 beer a night per person, still not the end of the world. but imagine if there were 4 adults in the house, why then your talking about less than 4 beers per week per person. And that's just madness... madness I say  ;D

**EDIT TO CORRECT MY MATH**

200 gallons among 4 adults = 17.53 fl oz per day rather than less than 4 beers per week.

It's late in the afternoon and I may be getting tired but when I figure ((2*12)*6) it looks a lot like 144 gallons to me.  That's before the "and a few more than that" statement.  I think you may have missed the 2X/month part of the equation.  Not a big deal but I kept staring at your statement with my math brain screaming 'I DON"T THINK SO' and I had to work it out to shut up the voices.  ::)

I brewed 75-80 gallons last year but will probably not do more that 60 this year.  I've been slowing down the last few years.

Since I first replied I've brewed another 70 gallons(15 yesterday) so I'm up to around 150 for the year.  But then we drank 40 gallons at Oktoberfest so I haven't made any progress in building a winter stash.

I've brewed about 110 gallons this year.  I brewed a lot early in the year trying to figure out a weird diacetyl issue I was having. Been slowing down a tad since I resolved that issue. I ruined a lot of beer this year. But that's okay, 1 step back for 2 steps forward...

I'm at 95. Two ten gallon batches and 15 five gallon batches. The goal was to brew 30 batches this year but didn't brew for two straight months on two separate occasions. I'll be brewing two batches next weekend. I hope to get a couple more in after that. 20 batches is a must, 110 gallons is certainly in my sites.

10 gallons in for 2014... IMO this should be like a loss carry forward kind of thing.  I didn't use my allocation in so many years (especially prior to taking up the hobby!), that I should be allowed to make up for lost time (unused allocations in prior years), don't you think? hahaha....

Ended 2013 at 85 gallons of beer, mead and cider.

2014 is currently at 5 gallons (brewed on New Year's Day).
