Title: 25% off sale
Post by: Wort-H.O.G. on November 25, 2014, 03:11:01 PM
my LHBS has 2 week 25% off sale running. even with shipping you might be able to stock up and save. 55lbs of maris at $1.06 per pound as example.

I love Label Peelers. They already have about the lowest prices around. They do these sales at least semi-annually. Which means I buy about 200 lb of grain twice a year. Makes it easy to make the 45 minute trip to Kent. I won't be ordering this time since I just hit up their last 20% off sale a couple months ago.

I also love Label Peelers. I use them for my high end wine kits. Best prices + service for the Eclipse series kits. The other outfit (that has excellent prices on WinExpert) in FL is a joke, and the owner is incredibly rude. I'm a LP fan for life after dealing with the FL guy!

If only I needed yet another wine going... Haha.

Thanks for the tip! I've been meaning to try out some Avangard malts. Now I have a sack of Pilsner, among other things, on the way for a real sweet price.

It's good stuff. I also use their Munich. Just an FYI, I tend to over shoot my gravity by 5 or so points when I use Avangard malts as a base.

Label Peelers is a solid place to get hops too. They make daily trips to LD Carleson (which is also in Kent) so everything is relatively fresh.

Yeah, I like Avangard pils quite a bit. It reminds me a lot of Durst pils, which is also nice. And I noticed the same thing about the extraction rate, Frank - I overshot my OGs each time I used it. I've heard similar reports from other brewers. I'm gonna adjust my recipes from here on out to compensate. Good stuff though.

EDIT - There are even references on Pro Brewer to higher extraction.

Must be close enough for cheap shipping. After shipping I am at about the same price as I can get Weyermann here.

Has anyone tried the Avangard Pale Malt?  I see lots of Pils posts, but not much about their 2 row.  I did pick up a sack for $35 on sale at my LHBS, but probably won't have time to brew with it until after the new year.

Merry Christmas to me. I gave myself the gift of lagers for the next year or so.
