Title: Miller Lite quality control and customer care story.

My dad has been drinking Miller Lite since I was a kid.  Since I can remember I would sneek in sips when his head was turned, so I know what a quality fresh tasting Miller Lite Pilsner is.  For the last three weeks I’ve purchased 3 different 36 super packs at the same Costco.  In every can of beer I crack open and pour into a glass I get an overpowering off smell/flavor, which may be due to sulfur and or acetaldehyde (I can’t really tell the difference because my pallet has not been trained to distinguish) .  So I called the 1800 number on the can.  

To make a long story short after I spoke with the representative she offered me an $18 miller liter voucher, but I instead said, I was more interested in finding out what that off flavor was.  So their analysis department is going to send a reciver package to collect the full can of Miller Lite so that it can be analyzed for quality control.  Once the analysis has been completed I will be sent a copy of the quality control analysis report.

NDA = Non-Disclosure Agreement - basically, it's a piece of paper they may have you sign that says "I can't tell anyone the things I learned from them under some sort of penalty".

E.g. - keep a secret or we'll hit you for some punishment.

Exactly. And we will all be expecting PMs with the whole story. Strictly between us, of course. ;)

NDA,oh, gotcha.I was just curious to know if what I tasted was throughout the batch or just restricted to the 3-36 super packs I bought from costco. If that overpowering off smell/taste was throughout the whole batch kinda seems weird that they would let such a huge error slip through.   Like if customers would not notice.  In the 8 years that I illegally took sips from my dad's beer can, and the 8 years that I've legally been drinking that Lite beer I have never tasted an off flavor.  I wonder if there is more to come.

Or it could possibly be that your pallet has become more trained/adept than it used to be and you are just now noticing something that was there all along?

I know my tastes changed very much after I had been brewing for a while.  Suddenly I found beers I used to really like were flawed in unacceptable ways.

touché...That may indeed be so..  I found that to be true one time when drinking New Castle brown ale.  I used to drink New Castle all through college and after going back to it most recently, It made me want to gag, just a little though.  But that maybe due to associated memories with over indulging in a game of kings cup with that fine brown ale.
