I've been meaning to play around with some split batches for a while, and I just got around to buying a pair of 3 gallon kegs. Friday night I kegged a batch of APA and dry hopped half with 2 oz. of Cascade and half with 2 oz. of Galaxy.
I've never used Galaxy before. They smell like my cat peed into a bag of Citra - should be interesting.

I brewed a Golden Ale a while back and used Galaxy. I really enjoyed it. I don’t recall any cat pee flavor.

. I’m a big fan of cascade, and sold all the remaining galaxy I had a few months ago - I know it’s the new “it” hop but after trying to like it I finally singled it out to be why I didn’t like certain ipas. Hopefully you like it though!

If my cat peed on my hops, I probably wouldn't call it "interesting." (I'm just glad she can't read this and get any ideas.) But I both can detect the "cat pee" note in some hops, and also like it in the right situation (but not always.) Look forward to your assessment.

Galaxy is one that divides opinions here in Australia. It’s also a hop that some people’s palates interpret totally differently to others. Me, I taste diesel whenever Galaxy is in a beer. Yark.

I am not a big fan of cattiness in hops so I am not a fan of galaxy (or simcoe, for that matter). I see why people who might like that or not be bothered by it could really enjoy that hop. It just isn't for me.

Man, that Galaxy is pungent. Most of the cat pee flavor has disappeared, so that's good.
It's crazy how different these beers are.
