Did anyone happen to catch THIS (https://www.sunnyskyz.com/blog/3083/This-Couple-Built-The-Most-Amazing-Backyard-Pub) story? Pretty sweet project.
-
OK. Sending this story on to my wife telling her this is what I want for my birthday present.
;D
-
That's awesome.
-
The wife asked me what I want for Father’s Day. I told her a chainsaw sharpener.
I now change my vote.

I feel like there was some photographic voodoo there because it looks MUCH bigger inside than it does from the outside. It looks like it might be 10x10 in the one picture of the base. But I can imagine being in there on a cool and drizzly Saturday afternoon with soccer on the telly, playing darts with a pint. Also, you would only need about 5-6 people in there for it to be jam-packed to capacity! :D
-
that is a beautiful home pub, i can only wish
-
If we had a larger yard at the house we are building I might actually give it a whirl. I don't think it would be that expensive to construct. Only two windows and one door.

what do you think the total cost would be for something like this?
-
If you bought all new materials then pushing $10k for the completed building. If you scoured and secured the door and windows as well as most of the materials from salvage/overstock probably under $5k. The expensive things are the fixtures and those would depend upon your tastes and needs.
-
don't really sound that bad, i saw this and i thought like 15+, i give whoever built that props.

Found the base kit:
https://www.tuin.co.uk/Emma-Corner-Log-Cabin.html
2400 pounds = ~$3k
-
That is friggn awesome dude, you found it.it's very affordable too, can't believe it . frickn eh
-
It looks like the "pub" version has a higher ceiling than the base kit. Someone could have ordered the base kit and tricked it out a little bit. Now, to get it delivered across the pond. :P
-
Wow. Maybe if I told my wife that this would finally get my kegerator out of the dining room...

Might actually be this one

Oh yeah, definitely. The ceiling is right and check out how the wood overlaps (for lack of a better term) near the entry. The original one doesn't do that. This one is actually slightly smaller and cheaper. How did you find these things?! :D
-
I have a knack for finding information on the internet. I followed the original link to the Facebook page. Then started reading the threads for each photo. Followed that to a link which lead to the cabin link.
Another example of how to find things. Needed to speak with the owner of a property near mine and had no contact info. Went to the GiS system, found the property card, googled his name, went through a few sites, found one which listed his vocation, added to his name, found a professional listing with a phone number and called him. Voila!
-
I don't really want to buy one of these (okay, maybe I do) but I would love to see one and maybe even help build one. I see that 3m is approx. 9.8 ft. so this thing is basically 10x10 which is the size of one of the bedrooms in our house. I feel like you could do something in that space but the 'pub people' really put a lot inside that small space.
Pardon me, where is the loo? :D
-
Outhouse!
Yeah, that pub is sweet. Why can't actual pubs here in the US have that atmosphere? All the breweries these days prefer an industrial feel which is so cold feeling. There's a place called The Sanctuary in Iowa City that has, or used to have, that sort of old world feel, but new owners kinda killed the vibe a few years ago. So sad...
-
this really got my wheels turning , i found this on home depot and i might pull the trigger https://www.homedepot.com/p/Best-Barns-Regency-8-ft-x-12-ft-Wood-Storage-Shed-regency812/301961443
this one looks cooler might go with this one https://www.homedepot.com/p/Outdoor-Living-Today-Cabana-8-ft-x-12-ft-Western-Red-Cedar-Garden-Shed-CB128/100655545?MERCH=

I'd stick build it. If you want that corner door the most important thing would be to create a beam support to the corner which wouldn't sag. If the roof materials are kept light it wouldn't have to be that dramatic.

Because here, that stuff is hard to procure initially and hard on the maintenance budget. Industrial's also helluva lot easier to keep clean and working.... unfortunately.

im building one of these eventually, im going wild west themed

It's a shame. Bars and breweries would be a helluva lot cooler if they were like that... But then again, I'd probably be a helluva lot more broke too :D
-
My wife said I could have one if I put in the corner door.
-
I'm not kidding, I have been rubbing my chin and looking at a corner of my yard. I even emailed the company that sells the kit and asked if they shipped them to the US. No answer yet. It's very cool looking and I feel like I have the ability to do some cool things with it. That section of the yard (miraculously) is covered by a new wifi system I put in place and I have access to electric although I would probably play with using low voltage lighting (I have a big LV system in the backyard and it's already right in that spot. But maybe you want a fridge back there and a TV and maybe even one of those in-room air-conditioners for when it's hot out. I dunno... I feel like building it would be really cool.

If I were you I’d source the materials myself. That kit is WAY overpriced.

I'm sure it's overpriced but I am not a master woodworker. All of those pieces are notched to fit together just so.

If I tried building that from scratch it would look like this...

Don’t short change yourself. You could build something similar for AT LEAST 50% (if not more) of the cost of that kit.

Your too kind, Big Monk. I consider myself 'mildly handy' but if I see something about a project that I either can't do or I think it won't come out right, I consult a professional. I think I could build that thing from the kit but sourcing raw materials... might be too much.
My wife wanted a greenhouse she-shed. I built a deck for it, put the greenhouse together and even threw in some low-voltage lighting...

But that was relatively simple and the greenhouse itself was easy as long as I followed the directions. Maybe I'll just reclaim the greenhouse and turn that into an English Pub. :D
-
Well, I couldn't help myself. I made an English Pub out of my small shed in the backyard. I have been noodling with this since I first saw those pictures.
Here's the outside:

And here's the inside:

;D

Doesn't look like it would be that large on the inside. I guess mine would be a mansion at 8' x 13'. ;)

NICE! Do you have any beer engines in there? ;)
Clearly if anyone made a pub from their current shed, the yard would be littered with a lawnmower, grills, charcoal, rakes, brooms, flower pots, etc. and our wives would be PEEVED! :D
-
The base was old deck boards from our deck renovation. The storage kit went up in a few hours with ease. It would make a great gathering place if it wasn't filled with stuff. ;)

You can call it the Tardis--- it looks bigger on the inside than from the outside.
;D

I think what you're seeing is the look from the basement. The spiral staircase is just out of sight on the right.

It looks like the smaller and least expensive model has the higher ceiling which could be nice. So... gonna buy it and build it?

It could happen. ;)
