Most are calling it Black IPA or whatever. I think IBA works too. As in India Black Ale instead of India Pale Ale. Whatever. It tastes great. I called mine Fat Man IBA. It was brewed on August 9th. Anyone else know why that date equates to the "Fat Man"?!?

I brewed one last weekend. OG was 1.071, damn thing attenuated down to 1.010. 8%abv! That's stronger than I wanted and it's a good thing I felt like I overhopped it. But I thought I'd "try" this new fad that everyone seems to be on.

My OG was 1072. FG 1014. Right on target for me.

Bomb on Hiroshima?

No. Although that is an uncanny coincidence. I just looked that up- it was Nagasaki and that bomb was called Fat Man.
There is another, less historically significant, anniversary of someone's death on August 9th. Roll away the dew....
