Another week, another chance to brew - whatcha making?
For me, no brewing this week - I'll be off speaking at the first ever San Diego Beer Con (http://beer-con.com/)
-
Working....again! Haven't brewed i over a month!
What are ya speaking on?
-
Brewing up a Spiced Holiday Strong ale, using the Cal V yeast cake from my Pale Ale of two weeks ago. Also planning to add more ginger / honey to the hard ginger ale I've been experimenting with.
-
I'm hoping to brew in the next few days, not sure what yet though. An ale, but I need to check my stocks and see what I have the malt to make. Also need to clean carboys and kegs, and check on (keg) the batch I brewed last week.

Why From Homebrewing Zero to Hero in 10 Easy Steps (http://www.homebrewersassociation.org/forum/index.php?topic=8883.0) :)
So far, everyone's in sync with what I've written, so wee! The only unfortunate part is that now I have to find something to be edgy and controversial about! :)

No plans to brew this weekend. Two weeks until I try to better my BJCP score. Study, study, study... :(

Controversy? Just tell them Tomme doesn't know what he's doing, that should stir things up. You might get hanged though.

Brewing a Wit on Sunday and smoking a bunch more malt.
My friend from Swamphead Brewery is coming down from Gainesville with three sacks of malt to smoke on my smoker. The Alder Smoked Porter we made with the last batch took first place at the WaZoo beer festival out of about 250 beers, so he wants to make 10 more barrels so he can have a batch with chipotles.
(I wonder if there's a market for cold-smoked malt? Should I start a thread on ingredients?)
-
I am going to try to brew a red rye that I have been trying to develop a recipe for.
A lot of trying in there, but I have to brew it this weekend or next so that it will be ready for an event on Sept 24th.

assuming the hurricane continues on its current path, helles on friday night.
-
Brewing up a coffee porter!!
-
I'll likely brew a dunkelweizen this weekend. Going to keg a porter too.
-
Kegging/dry-hopping my Pliny Clone. It was already delicious at the end of primary a week ago.
Brewing up a Mocktoberfest. (need to use ale yeast to be ready by the 24th)
-
possibly making a starter for the triple decoction hefe I am brewing with my wife. I figured her first brew should be as complex as possible so that every subsequent one would seem simple.

No brewing this weekend as we're taking the Scouts camping. Ought to be interesting with Irene blowing through.

You'll do great Ron, RDWHAHB :)

Since the weather's been getting a little cooler lately I figured I'd do a dry stout on Friday.
-
I've been rotating my brewing so I can use freshly harvested yeast. So this weekend it is WL 830 up to bat - sounds like a pilsner is in order. It can be ready for early mid-season football, if all goes well.
-
I'm going to try to fit in a Brown Ale in the next few days and my wife and I are going to make our annual Blueberry Wine from all the blueberries we picked up in the UP Michigan.
-
Don't think I will brew this weekend. If I do, it will be another cream ale because it's easy and quick, and i went through all of it this past weekend. But with the hurricane-a-comin' I'm thinking saturday will be a day to just watch movies with the wife. Sunday is my league's fantasy football draft :-)
-
I knocked out an amber last night using some of my homegrown hops. I'll brew again this weekend, and I have three batches to bottle/keg: bock, winter warmer and bitter.
-
Mashed in on the stout. I'm trying the cold steeping technique for most of the dark grains for this batch. I'll add the liquid in with about 15 minutes left in the boil.
-
No brewing here, I have too much basement-finishing work to do. I do plan on making a starter for an APA though, and hopefully brew it sometime next week.
-
Brewed an ordinary bitter (OG 1042) and am hoping to brew a Saison today or tomorrow. I am planning to use a bottle of the dark candy syrup in the Saison and see how it turns out.
-
I am brewing a mild today. OG around 1.036.
Chris.
-
Today, (right now in fact) I'm brewing Rocket Rod's Positively Porter. Tomorrow, it is a great weissen bock that I love.
-
Was supposed to fly this weekend but got cancelled...... 8)
Finally got the vacation cleaned up and the lawn, eh, hay field, under control.
I have no beer.....drinking commercial (OK, craft, but still....) 16 empty kegs.....
The generator is fueled, fridge stocked. Starter wort cooling. Grain bills laid out ready to go first thing tomorrow morning.
Wooden Shoe Hurricane Imperial Stout (10g)
Wooden Shoe India Pale Ale. (10g)

Got her done..... in spite of the fact that the power went out last night, the tons of rain found their way into my septic system, which without a dosing pump ended up trying to crawl out of the head in the basement.....water found a way in in the most unlikely places... Got a Sears 3500W genny going to push the septic pump and the sump pump, as well as some lights, and a duo of tethered EU2000's to push the fridge and the keggerator..... did loose one tree, but if you look close you'll see it's fixable.... ;D

Brewed the Imperial Stout and the IPA..... quite a smooth brew day in fact. MUST find a way to chill the wort faster. It is THE bottle neck in my process.......
