Ingredients / Re: New bulk grain supplier
« on: January 13, 2011, 11:27:40 AM »
The admin contact for the DNS entry is someone at rebelbrewer.com. Other than looks the site layout and function is almost exactly the same. So is this really a new supplier? Don't get me wrong, the prices are not bad. I just don't like to be fooled.

Equipment and Software / Re: Heating a Fermentation Fridge
« on: October 28, 2010, 09:55:16 AM »
In fall like this I use a 25w or 40w bulb covered with tin foil and is always on in my ferm. fridge and then the fridge is on my Johnson. Yes that hurts. Once it gets cold enough and I do not need to cool I switch to a heating pad on my Johnson. Yes that feels good. I'd switch to a two stage controller if I could afford it but there always seems to be other priorities since I have a working Johnson, despite what my wife says.

Beer Recipes / Re: Imperial Octoberfest suggestions

Seems a little weak on the Munich and Vienna for an Imperial.  Here is the recipe from the 2009 NHC Gold as found in Zymurgy.

Its AG but swap out the pilsner with light LME about 5 lbs. Then refactor up from there.

All Things Food / Re: The Homebrewed Chef with Sean Paxton

I'm super stoked about Paxton's continued recognition. Man does wonders and can really serve as another conduit for people to "get beer".

Plus, I have to say nice things about him. He's a giant. Giants scare me. :)

But a good and friendly giant.

** update ** The unread feature seems to do the same thing!!!

I use the Brewing Network forum a lot and I like the ability to quickly scan the recent beer related posts regardless of what category they are in. Your "recently" feature shows way to much of the post, I just want titles. Much like the TT table of content did. You may be able to find a mod on the SMF site. They have tons of them. like this one. http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=2469

I would be glad to take time and find SMF mods and talk with your tech person as I am a web developer also.
