Hi AHA Forum users,
You may have noticed we experienced a few hiccups on the forum while turning over the new site (check it out!). We know quite a few of you were affected, but we assure you that normal forum users are not actually “banned forever.” We'd be crazy to do that!
Thank you to those who helped us troubleshoot this issue, and we apologize for the inconvenience.

Yes IE 11 is causing trouble on many sites. I'll keep a lookout for an update from the forum software folks and we'll test and see if we can implement our own fix as well. In the meantime please use another browser.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

I just installed an update for the Forum software. Can you check your browser again? Also what version of Explorer? Is it 11?

I just installed an update to Tapatalk to the Forum. That should address anyone's issues they were having.

Thanks everyone for your comments and suggestions. I'll be working with our Web Architect when he is back from vacation. We will be testing it out the fixes/adjustments on our development server prior to changing anything on the live site.

Thanks for your patience.

Hi all,
In response to the NEW button issue I've replied on this ongoing specific thread:

Regarding the "Unread" and "Replies" button being so close to the AHA banner - GMAC can you clarify are you viewing on your phone? Screen cap would help me make sure I'm understanding.

We waited a couple of years before upgrading the forum. We waited until the latest version was out of Beta testing. The new version fixed a long list of bugs and improved security. I appreciate the feedback and we will try and repair what we can access with reasonable effort and resources. However programming a new function or making significant changes is not really in the cards.

And thanks to Denny and the other moderators for bringing problems to our attention.

In the research I noticed the NEW button on SMF's own discussion board operates the same way. Click NEW and it takes  you to the top of the page not the actual NEW post.

Please verify the experience is the same.

I've also found discussions on their boards where people expected it to operate a different way but did not find a solution.

Hi - Gary just caught me up on this thread. I'll have our person take a look and try and fix.

Hi Everyone,
Thanks for your investigation into this matter. We've done some digging as well and read your notes. We feel the code in the forum for the page down link is good and as you all have discovered, seem to be a browser issue.

We think the fix should really happen on the browser end. Any fix, if we could discover the correct place(s) that the code would need to be modified, might cause the same issue in other browsers or for Firefox and others to not work when SMF pushes out an update.  We could be chasing our tail after every SMF update. Since this issue is resolvable by viewing in another browser, and an error hasn't been uncovered, I think we should wait and see if the next version of Firefox for Ubunto and others clears it up.
