I recently picked up the same kit and am getting my equipment together to make it. I think it calls for a 2.5 gallon boil for the specialty grains and hops. I haven't tried any math on it yet. What would happen with a 5 gallon steep on the grains? If I boil the hops in 5 gals and get that big IBU how much more dme would I need to make an honest DIPA?
